Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force, Chapter 10
Mission 10: Damage ControlWhen Mitzi and Gary returned to the Gadget Room, Gary expressed his concerns about all the trouble his runaway Test Robots were causing around Club Penguin. "It's upsetting, Mitzi," said Gary, looking at his clipboard. "I just feel awful for all the trouble my Test Robots have caused.""Don't worry, G," said Mitzi, being the always optimistic penguin she was. "I'm sure we'll make it right again.""I hope so," said Gary. "I am fortunate to be working with so many agents that strive to keep Club Penguin safe.""That's the spirit!" said Mitzi, giving a flipper pump for emphasis. "The sooner we have that deactivating gadget, the quicker things will go back to normal.""Right you are, Mitzi!" said Gary. "I'm ready to get back to work, are you?""No doubt about it," said Mitzi. She knew Gary and the other EPF agents could count on her to gather clues about the robots. "All right then," said Gary. "The first order of business, Mitzi, is to touch base with the other agents in the field with the Communicator.""I'm on it," said Mitzi. "Is the robot deactivating gadget ready yet?""Not yet," said Gary. "The problem with microchips is that they are, well, micro. I seem to have lost one...""Okay, well...That's no big deal," said Mitzi. "I'm sure you'll find it. Good luck, and let me know when it's ready.""Yes, I shall," said Gary. "Much appreciated."As Gary got to work on the deactivator, Mitzi looked at her Spy Gadget Communicator to see if there were any agents she needed to contact. Sure enough, there were. Dot, the Rookie, and the Jetpack Guy were all available, so Mitzi decided to contact the Rookie first. "Agent Flapdoodle!" said Rookie. "I've run into a bit of a problem here.""Where are you, agent?" asked Mitzi. "At the Plaza," said the Rookie. "You won't believe what happened. Get here, quick! Please!""All right, I'm on my way!" said Mitzi. "Over and out!"Mitzi left the Gadget Room and hurried over to the Plaza to see what the Rookie needed her help for. When she got there, she saw something quite peculiar. The Theater's ticket booth was missing, and the Rookie was trying to build a new one. "What the heck?" thought Mitzi. "What's going on here?""Oh, goodness," said the Rookie. "Building a ticket booth from scraps sounded so easy when I thought of it...""What the heck happened?" said Mitzi. "The Plaza is a wreck!""Agent Flapdoodle! I'm so glad you're here," said the Rookie. "I've got such a mess on my flippers." "What happened, Rookie?" asked Mitzi. "One of those robots came and ripped the ticket booth right out of the Theater!" said the Rookie. "It sure did," said Mitzi. "Look at that hole!" "I know," said the Rookie. "I'm trying to fix it, but I can't get this last piece to stay in place. I keep trying to hammer nails into this scrap of metal, but they just won't go through!" "What else have you tried?" asked Mitzi. "I tried some glue, tape, and a jackhammer," said the Rookie. "I'm surprised the last one didn't work.""Well, no joke," said Mitzi. "Did you actually see the robot tear out the ticket booth?""I only caught a glimpse of it," said the Rookie. "It was moving fast. Like, crazy snowboarder fast. That's got to be how it moves so quickly.""There must be something we can do," said Mitzi. "There must be," said the Rookie. Luckily, Mitzi knew exactly what to do. She blew her Puffle Whistle and called for Flare. "Hey, Flare," she told the black puffle. "Rookie needs help putting together that makeshift ticket booth. Think you can help him out?"Flare nodded and put on his welding mask. He went over to the ticket booth the Rookie was trying to finish and used his breath to weld the metal piece together. "Sweet!" said the Rookie. "Welding works wonders for making metal stick to metal! Thank you for helping me, Agent Flapdoodle. Now I can try to look for the real ticket booth." "Where are you going to look?" asked Mitzi. "I'm not sure, exactly..." said the Rookie. "Did you find any clues?" asked Mitzi. "Just a piece of paper," said the Rookie. "It was all smudged from being in the snow, though.""Can I see it?" said Mitzi. "I left it where I found it," said the Rookie. "It's around here somewhere...""I'll look around and see what I can find," said Mitzi. "The clue is around here somewhere..." said the Rookie. Mitzi looked around to see if she could find the clue, when she saw something sitting next to the entryway of the Pet Shop. It appeared to be a page from a book. She took a closer look at it, and saw that the page was a blueprint for some sort of machine, but Mitzi didn't know what it was. It was a little hard to tell, since the ink was all smeared. "I'm still trying to track that robot..." said the Rookie. "Do you need any help?" asked Mitzi. "No," said the Rookie. "But you could give G an update from me.""Did you find anything yet?" asked Mitzi. "Nothing but snow, some odd bolts, and ticket stubs," said the Rookie. "Okay, good luck," said Mitzi. Then she whipped out her Spy Gadget and used her Communicator to call Gary and tell him what she found. "Greetings, Mitzi," said Gary. "Is everything okay?""Not quite, G!" said Mitzi. "I'm at the Plaza. The Test Robots stole the ticket booth from the Theater!""Oh my!" said Gary. "Better get that patched up right away! Be sure to bring me back any clues you find.""I'll see what I can do to help," said Mitzi. "Agent Flapdoodle, over and out!" As she ended her call, she used her gadget to teleport to the HQ so she could bring the clue she found back to Gary. When she entered the Gadget Room, she showed Gary the page she had found at the Plaza. The inventor recognized it immediately. "Mitzi! This is wonderful!" he exclaimed. "It's a blueprint page from my lost invention notebook!""That's great news, aside from the smudges," said Mitzi. "But why would a page from your notebook have been at the Plaza?""It's coming back to me now, in pieces..." said Gary. "I had my notebook with me when I went to the Mine...""That means someone would have carried it from the Mine to the Plaza..." said Mitzi. "Precisely...sort of," said Gary. "I'll have to think about this."While Mitzi let Gary think, she decided to call the Jetpack Guy on her Communicator. "Agent Flapdoodle, great to see you're online," said the Jetpack Guy. "I need some help here.""Where are you?" asked Mitzi. "I'm at the ice fishing pond behind the Ski Lodge," said the Jetpack Guy. "I'm on my way!" said Mitzi. "Over and out!" Mitzi left the Gadget Room and exited the Sports Shop. The Ski Lodge was next door, so Mitzi entered the lodge and went out the green door that had a sign saying "Gone Fishing". As she got to the ice fishing pond, she could see that the Jetpack Guy was waiting for her. "Agent Flapdoodle, I'm glad to see you," said the Jetpack Guy. "I could really use your help.""Are you going ice fishing?" asked Mitzi. "A flying robot penguin stole the telescope from the Beacon," said the Jetpack Guy. "As I was chasing it through the skies, I saw it drop something down into the pond." "Into the pond?" said Mitzi. "Where? Isn't it frozen?""Wouldn't you know, it fell right into the fishing hole," said the Jetpack Guy. "Lucky shot. A piece of paper, it looked like." "Why in the world would a robot want a telescope?" asked Mitzi. "I don't know, Agent Flapdoodle," said the Jetpack Guy. "But that piece of paper might be a clue. Do you know how to work a fishing pole?""Of course I do!" said Mitzi. "I love to fish! I can get it out for you.""That would be terrific!" said the Jetpack Guy. Mitzi got out her fishing pole and opened up a can of bait. She hooked a worm onto the end of her pole and sat down to fish. There weren't a lot of fish in the water today, but there were plenty of squids. She caught as many squids as she could, while trying to avoid sharks who would eat her bait or crabs who would cut the line of her pole off. Those silly little crabs couldn't cut her string because she was too fast for them. Suddenly, she felt something heavy on the end of her line. She reeled it in and the ice cracked, revealing a giant treasure chest with a squid attached to it. Mitzi opened the chest and found something inside. "Nice work, Agent Flapdoodle," said the Jetpack Guy. "You got your flippers on the clue. What is it?""I'm not sure yet," said Mitzi. "I'll have to take a closer look at it."Mitzi reached into the chest and picked up the clue. It was a notebook with another blueprint inside. The blueprint had a picture that looked like a robot penguin's head connected to some sort of speaker. It seemed very odd. "What did you find?" asked the Jetpack Guy. "It's a piece of paper with drawings on it," said Mitzi. "But the ink is washed off in places." "Why does a robot have a drawing?" asked the Jetpack Guy. "Is it in some sort of robot art school or something?""Good question," said Mitzi. "I should take it to G and see what he can make of it.""That's a great idea," said the Jetpack Guy. "I'm going to take off and look for the telescope thieving Jet-Bot again.""Did you see which way it flew off?" asked Mitzi. "Looked from here like it was headed for the wilderness," said the Jetpack Guy. "Well, have a safe flight!" said Mitzi. "Call me if you get into a pinch.""You bet," said the Jetpack Guy. As he took off, Mitzi used her Spy Gadget to teleport back to the HQ to show Gary what she found. She entered the Gadget Room and handed the inventor the blueprint she found. "Another blueprint page from my lost notebook!" exclaimed Gary. "Why are they turning up loose from their binding?""It's no coincidence," said Mitzi. "Wherever the Test Robots go, your notebook pages turn up.""I'm very concerned," said Gary. "These plans could be disastrous in the wrong hands.""I'm going to see if I can find more clues," said Mitzi. "Yes, good idea, Mitzi!" said Gary. As Gary went back to work, Mitzi looked at her Spy Gadget, knowing that the last agent she needed to call was Dot. She turned on the Communicator and contacted Dot. "Hello, Mitzi!" said Dot. "Perfect timing! I need you over here right away!""Where are you now, Dot?" asked Mitzi. "I'm at the Dance Club," said Dot. "One of those robots made a big mess.""I'll be right there," said Mitzi. "Over and out!"She left the Gadget Room and went to the Town to take a look at what happened in the Dance Club. When she got there, she saw Dot holding a magnifying glass and inspecting some tracks of snow. "It's terrible, isn't it?" she told a construction penguin. "It sure is," said the construction penguin, pointing to a peculiarly shaped hole that was made in the wall. "What happened, exactly?""A robot penguin on wheels drove in and stole a pair of the Dance Club speakers!" said Dot. "What are these robots doing?" asked the construction penguin. "Having a robot party?""Whatever it is, it's making a mess," said Dot. "Can you fix the hole in the wall?""I'll have to measure the damage and find the right parts," said the construction penguin. "But I'm sure it won't be a problem.""That's good news," said Dot. Then she turned and saw Mitzi walking in. "Oh, hello, Mitzi!" she said. "I'm glad to see you. I have something to show you.""A clue? Already?" said Mitzi. "You're the best, Dot!""Oh, thank you, Mitzi!" said Dot, feeling flattered by that compliment. "You're very kind. Follow me and I'll show you."She waddled over to where the turntables were and inspected a piece of paper. It looked like another blueprint. "What do you think of this clue, Mitzi?" she asked, taking out her magnifying glass. "I'm not sure what it is," said Mitzi. "Let me take a look.""Yes, please do!" said Dot. Mitzi picked up the blueprint and took a look at it. The picture on the blueprint looked like some sort of robotic arm, although some of the lines were rubbed off. "These robots are really disturbing the peace on this island," said Dot. "This clue must have something to do with it," said Mitzi. "What do you think, Dot?""I think you're right," said Dot. "Hmm...""What should I do with it?" asked Mitzi. "I can't say for sure," said Dot. "But I have a feeling G would be extra interested in what we've found.""Yep," said Mitzi. She then turned her attention to the gigantic hole that was made in the wall."Oh my goodness," she said. "That is sure a huge hole.""What a mess!" said the construction penguin. "Just slammed right through. We're lucky it didn't knock the place down...""Why would the robot want stereo speakers?" asked Mitzi. "I don't know, ma'am," said the construction penguin. "They weren't exactly portable. Those things weighed a ton!""Has anything ever happened like this before?" asked Mitzi. "Well, there was an incident with the ticket booth at the Theater," said the construction penguin. "Those robots are after some tall order items.""So I've heard," said Mitzi. "But we're lucky to have construction penguins like you to fix it!""Why, thank you!" said the construction penguin. Then he went back to work on fixing the wall.As Mitzi picked up her Spy Gadget, she teleported to the HQ to show the blueprint page she found to Gary. She believed that this was the last page, so she went into the Gadget Room and handed it to the inventor. "Yet another blueprint from my lost notebook!" said Gary. "This one looks like the design for a mechanical arm.""That's what I thought," said Mitzi. "What do you think the arm might be used for?""Well, the design was to make it large and powerful..." said Gary. "G, could the Test Robots be...building something?" asked Mitzi. "This level of destruction makes little sense to me, Mitzi," said Gary. "These Test Robots are wrecking everything in Club Penguin," said Mitzi. "Why would they do this?""Robots are computers, Mitzi," said Gary. "And computers are what I call the Three P's: Programmed, Predictable, and therefore, Powerless. But all of this trouble might prove me wrong.""Well, at least we found the pages from your lost invention notebook," said Mitzi. "That should help us solve this mystery.""Yes, of course," said Gary. "I can only hope we aren't too late...""It's never too late, G," said Mitzi. "I will find the Test Robots and shut them down for good.""Shut them down! That reminds me!" said Gary. "I have finished the deactivating gadget.""You did? Perfect timing, G!" said Mitzi. Gary handed the deactivating gadget to Mitzi so she could have a look at it. It looked like some kind of a cross between a floppy disc drive and a USB port. "This looks kind of strange," said Mitzi. "But I can definitely use this to disable the robots."Gary brought out his chalkboard and drew some pictures as he explained what the deactivating gadget did. "The Robotomy tool is easy to use," said Gary. "Simply plug it into the robot's hard drive through its belly.""Alright," said Mitzi. "That sounds pretty easy.""You'll need to disable the robots first," said Gary. "And each one has some weak spots that your puffles can help you hit. When you are all done deactivating the robot, wrap it up in a bubble and return it to me." Well, that sounded pretty simple, but Mitzi knew it wasn't going to be that easy. Nevertheless, she couldn't wait to try out the deactivator. G's Test Robots were on a rampage, and it was her duty as an EPF agent to stop them. She was ready to defeat the robots and restore peace to Club Penguin....
